Uses of Amoxycillin 200 mg + Potassium Clavulanate 28.50 mg

Amoxycillin 200 mg + Potassium Clavulanate 28.50 mg combination is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections. Its common uses:

. Respiratory tract infections – such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infection.
. Ear, nose, throat infections – such as tonsillitis, otitis media.
. Urinary tract infections (UTI) – such as bladder or kidney infection.
. Skin & soft tissue infections – such as boils, cellulitis.
. Bone & joint infections – such as osteomyelitis.
. Dental infections – such as severe tooth infection (abscess).

This medicine works only for bacterial infections, it is not helpful in viral infections (like common cold, flu).

Dosage

. Adults & Children (above 12 years): Usually one tablet twice a day (every 12 hours), or as advised by doctor.
. Children (below 12 years): Dose depends on weight and age as per doctor’s advice (mostly given in suspension form).
. Take with food – this causes less stomach upset and the medicine is absorbed better.
. It is important to complete the course – even if the symptoms subside beforehand.
. Never skip or double the dose. If you miss a dose, take it quickly, but if the time for the next dose is near, skip it and continue with the normal schedule.

The exact dosage is decided by the doctor depending on the severity of the infection, age of the patient and health condition.

Precautions

1. Do an allergy check – If you are allergic to penicillin or any other antibiotic (rash, itching, breathing issue), then do not take this medicine at all.
2. Kidney / Liver problem – If you have kidney or liver problem, then tell the doctor first, because the dose may have to be adjusted.
3. Pregnancy & Breastfeeding – This medicine is normally safe, but take the doctor’s advice before taking it.
4. Tell about other medicines – If you are already taking blood thinners, gout medicine, or any antibiotic, then inform the doctor, because there can be interactions.
5. Take the complete course – Even after the symptoms are cured, stopping the medicine incompletely can bring back the infection.

How does Moxybless CV Dry Syp work?

. Moxybless CV Dry Syrup WFI is a combination antibiotic containing two medicines – Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid.
. Amoxycillin is a penicillin group antibiotic which stops the process of formation of cell walls by the bacteria. Due to this the bacteria are not able to survive and they slowly die.
. Clavulanic Acid is a “beta-lactamase inhibitor”. It blocks the protective enzyme of the bacteria, which normally weakens the antibiotics. This makes amoxycillin more effective.

In simple words, this combination stops the growth of bacteria and kills them and controls the infection.
